This is a wonderful opportunity for you, the young professional, to dive into the world of non-profits. YPA has created this non-profit matching program in order to give young professionals a voice and position in today’s non-profit world. The program will allow you to use and build upon the skills you have for a passion of serving the community you live in.

It’s that time of year! YPA is on a July 1 – June 30 Fiscal year so we are starting to look for people interested in filling 5 open positions on our Board! You may nominate yourself or someone else. Below are the requirements, open positions and some important dates!

You are eligible if you are:
Between the ages of 21-40, a paying YPA Member and have attended at least 5 events in the past year.

  • Community Service Co-Chair
  • Social Co-Chair
  • Membership Co-Chair and Professional Development Co-Chair.
Important Dates!
  • Thursday, April 5th, 8:15 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. at the Chamber Boardroom – We will be having an information session and going over details of board job descriptions. 
  • Tuesday, May 1st – Deadline for nominations

The Biltmore Beacon, a weekly newspaper circulating in the Biltmore communities of Asheville, in cooperation with the Young Professionals of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce will host its first 40 Under Forty leadership awards banquet on Thursday, May 10 in Asheville. Watch for venue details, times and ticket information soon. Nomination information is available under the nomination tab on this page.
Celebrate with us as the Biltmore Beacon/Mountaineer Publishing Co.honor 40 rising stars of the greater Asheville business community. 
To nominate someone for 40 Under Forty, fill out the form at right, then in 200 words or less, explain why the nominee is worthy of the honor. Self-nomination is allowed, but each nominee will need letters of support (which can be submitted here or via mail at the address below) from at least one workplace colleague or supervisor and one member of the community at large.

YPA Lunch & Learn - Graduate & Continued Education Opportunities

We are proud to present a Lunch & Learn panel discussing and learning about the  different continuing education and graduate school opportunities available in Western North Carolina. Thinking about getting a Masters Degree? Trying to figure out the balance of full-time work and going back to school? Join use as we discuss these opportunities with four representatives from area universities in their graduate school departments.  

This session will be $15 and includes a boxed lunch from Valet Gourmet.
